My devotion today was entitled "Never Lose Hope". It still amazes me how God brings exactly what I need, exactly when I need it.
It has been a rough year for the Wynn household. My relationship with God has finally begun to move in the right direction - as well as my marriage, my job, my outlook on life... but this has not been without coming away with a few scars.
It's easy to get discouraged in the day-to-day. It's easy to look at my life and think, "Wow, how can this ever change...". I have had that kind of mindset the last couple weeks. I've been quite discouraged with all the progress that I've made and that Joel and I have made together. However, I finally decided to get started on this devotional book that I kept telling myself I would get started on. I picked it up...and Never Lose Hope was presented to me.
The verse that was focused on: "Be of good courage, and HE shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord." Psalm 31:24 HE, GOD, will strengthen my heart if I run to him. I have to remember to look to him!
My favorite passage reads "If the garden of your soul has been overtaken by the negativity that is an unfortunate hallmark of the age in which we live, don't be discouraged. Simply turn your thoughts and prayers to the Father and to the Son. Then trust in God's promises...A garden is a lovely place to visit if it is tended with care, so cultivate yours carefully, and then reap the bountiful harvest that God has in store for you."
How pretty is your garden today? Mine...well it has a few weeds, but I've called in the gardener.
